Comments and Questions - 2007

November 28, 2007 - Aquarius and Street Lights

Georgia, both my wife and I are Aquarians.  "Knocking out" streetlights and "turning them" on has been a common occurrence for both us, either independently or when we're together.  For me it seems to occur more when I'm emotionally charged, especially when either excited or agitated, and it's usually causing streetlights to go out.  I'd love to be able to "channel" this, but it really seems to be more coincidental than anything.  How is this "gift" explained in the astrological world, and why we Aquarians  ?

Cheers,
R.

Dear R.

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and it rules electricity.  Most Aquarians have irregular patterns of electricity within them - simply because they have unique biorhythms.

Aquarians don't necessarily want to eat when everyone else wants to eat. And they don't want to sleep when everyone else wants to sleep.

However, in our society - and especially growing up as children and attending school - a rigid schedule is imposed on us (breakfast, lunch, and dinner and bedtime and waking up.)

If this schedule does not "fit" with the Aquarius person, the electricity in them starts to back up (or build up) and it comes out on their skin - as rashes or eczema or something like that as a child or as headaches. Even later as adults.

Naturally, they also throw it around them by putting out street lights and nixing small appliances like hair dryers, and even watches - (these items often won't last beyond 6 months or a year.)

Always respect as much as possible your need to sleep and eat when you want.

cheers!

November 14, 2007 - Mercury Retrograde Relationships

Hi Georgia! Love your site and have shared it with many.

Ok, so I understand Mercury retrograde fairly well, I think - you've explained it a few times. But does the "don't start anything new" warning apply to projects and hands-on type things only or would one be pitting oneself against fate to start a relationship during this communication-mishap-filled time? Thanks.

M.

Dear M.

Good question. Don't worry about starting a relationship when Mercury is retrograde. However, I would never start a business when Mercury is retrograde because it will just grow too slowly. But relationships are different.

For starters, it's actually more likely that one meets others during a Mercury retrograde because you either knew them casually before, or in fact, (if you believe in past lives) you're making a reconnection with someone now. It's quite logical.

So-called relationships are beginnings, and yet at the same time, they are like a circle closing. This is why some people feel they met before or they have known each other for a long time. ("Didn't you repossess my car in a previous life? Your mustache looks familiar.")

Don't worry about the actual relationship. However, while Mercury is retrograde, you might agree to meet at Starbucks - and you're each at a different location. Agghh! Classic!

Good luck!

November 13, 2007 - Love Pains

Hi Georgia,

Love your horoscopes!! I usually read them in the local paper, but now that I've found your website, I'll be back!

I was reading some of your comments/questions and felt inspired to write to you for advice... so here goes nothing!

My b-day is xxxx . His b-day is xxx.  Both PST.

I ADORE him... but we just don't seem to communicate on the same level.  We have so much fun together, but we really have to make an effort to communicate or things get ugly!  This is, without a doubt, the best relationship for chemistry I've ever had in my life!!! But it's also the worst for communication.  Blah!  So what do you think?  From a "charts" point of view, is it worth all the drama, time & energy?? I'm so torn!  Oh yeah, there's one little detail that I haven't mentioned.... can you see it in his chart??? It concerns fidelity/marital status.......

Thanks & I look forward to hearing from you!!

Wondering.

Dear Wondering,

It sounds to me like you are madly in lust. This is always lots of fun but also frustrating once you start to expect more from the relationship. If you are hoping it could develop into something long term, you are going to have to have some basis for communicating - no? And btw - I did not look at your charts because what I have to say is just my opinion and your charts won't change things. You already know how they are.

I get the impression you feel he cannot be trusted to be true to you. So - you don't communicate, and you can't trust him? Hmmmm - what's wrong with this picture?

Actually, I have been here. I know whereof you speak. I kept enjoying myself, and then going through private anguish because I wanted the relationship to be more than it could be - until one day I finally pulled the plug.

Just know what you are doing and don't kid yourself that it is anything other than what it is. Sure one candle is better than the darkness....... but living by candlelight can be hard on the eyes. After a while, you no longer see what other possibilities are really out there waiting for you. Bright lights! Power! Good communication - trust - the works!

You have to believe in yourself and your own attractiveness and desirability and ability to attract someone who offers you more.

Good luck!

Love

October 19, 2007 - Coat, Condo, or Company

Why does your daily moon alert use the phrase "coat condo or a company" when telling us when to avoid shopping? It makes no sense!

S.W.

Dear SW

Because before when I said "shopping", people thought it just meant casual shopping for 'stuff' - but I mean all financial transactions i.e. buying a coat - or a home - or real estate or even a company.

In other words, the Moon Alert applies to everything.... I have so little space to try to get this idea across - originally, I thought that "shopping or important decisions" would convey this. But many people think I am trying to promote consumerism. Far from it!

Does this make it any clearer?

September 20, 2007 - Moon Alert Question

Dear Georgia,

I'm pretty much loyal to your website (I like the website) in terms of horoscope reading, and usually I read the all clear to important decisions can be made or not made, and I have one question.

If I made a decision that I wanted to buy something a time before the day I actual would buy that thing, Can I buy on that day where it says to avoid making the decision or doing the actual purchase?

For example I made the decision I wanted to buy an Xbox a long time ago and today there is a caution until 5:30 pm pacific. Perhaps you can explain the concept of this.

Thank You.

Hi

This is a good question. And I have often wondered about this myself. (When I really want to buy something.)

To be sure, I think the Moon Alert applies more to spontaneous decisions as opposed to something you have carefully thought out.

However, every moment of every day has a chart. There is a chart for my reply to you right now for example. Therefore, when you buy that X-Box, it has a chart. And with that "Moon" is might be more unreliable than you want. Or for some reason, it does not serve your purpose.

To be on the safe side, even if I "know" I am going to buy something - except for food -- I buy nothing during those Moon Alert times.. They are too hairy!!

However, having said that. It might not be 100% - you might have a 15% chance of getting away with it.

That's all I can say. :)

September 14, 2007 - Gemini Cusp Date

Hello,  I love your horoscope column, just so amazing at times. My Sunday does not feel complete unless i read the week ahead. I read up on astrology quite a bit... My Birthday is June 21, 1982 most books say Gemini and others say Cancer. Your column says cancer and i was wondering what makes you think this way and what makes other books think the other way? I realize that your birth time plays a big role, does this make me a balanced blend between both signs???

Thanks J

Dear J.

Every year the Sun changes slightly, and the day it enters a sign can differ by a day or even two days, depending on the year. The times that are listed in horoscope columns are AVERAGE times..... one has to check the exact year.

In your case - 1982 - the Sun entered Gemini on June 21, 1982 at 10:15 a.m. PDT. (You will have to translate that figure to the Time Zone where you were born.)

Now you know.....

September 13, 2007 - Theory Behind Astrology

Georgia:

I watch several astrology sites. They all say something different for a particular day. Which begs the question - is there one basic theory behind astrology? If so, why are there so many different interpretations of "the stars"?

R.
Calgary

Dear R.,

It's true. Daily columns can differ for several reasons: quite often, on one day, several planetary aspects are taking place. There's only so much room in a daily column to make comments - so different astrologers might choose different things on which to focus.

There's also another reason: different astrologers make different interpretations according to who they are as people and even to whatever might be happening in their lives. The notion that what we see depends on who we are very much applies to any discipline where interpretation is involved.

Astrology is based on mathematics, cycles, symbols, glyphs and relationships. Different astrologers see different relationships. This is why different readers become comfortable with certain astrologers and their columns. I'm grateful that millions are comfortable with me! (Kiss, kiss - hug, hug.)

September 12, 2007 - Cancer Question

Hi Georgia

I do so enjoy your weekly horoscopes, a couple of questions, do you do any talk shows in Toronto, if so when? I wrote to you before and was asking you about the sign Scorpio and your advice was right on the nose, thank you for taking the time and answering my question, I guess sometimes you do need to take a step back and really look at the whole scheme of things.  My husband is a Cancer and I can honestly say for the past ten years, his career had hit an all time low, and then out of the blue he got a really decent job that he enjoys, but in the last 2 months he has a co-worker (I don't know her sign) has made his life miserable at every corner of the spectrum, I call her the master manipulator, long story short, she always goes over his head, and gets what she wants will this crap stop or is he in for it, he honestly thinks she's trying to get him fired.  Even just a little insight will help, he was born July x 19xx, in the am.

Thanks again
L.

Hi and thanks for your kind words. A very unusual thing is happening with Cancer right now. Fiery Mars is in Cancer. Normally Mars stays in a sign about six or seven weeks -- but Mars is going to stay in Cancer this time for about six months! (Although it does slip back into Gemini.)

This is good and bad. The good news is that it makes one energetic, decisive, assertive and ready to work. Yeehaw!

The bad news is it also makes one rather combative and bossy. Is it possible that this woman want your husband to back down because she feels he's coming on too strong?

I know this is going to sound crazy, but one of the best ways to deal with an enemy is to feel sympathy for them (for being such a jerk) - after all -- they have to live inside their skin all day long 24/7. Yuk!

Once you feel this sympathy for your enemy -- even to the point where you wish them well -- it's surprising how it takes away their power or their ability to ruin your day. Just try it.

Hmmm... I just had a look at where Mars is actually hitting his chart -- and it is in a rather tough place. It means he's very inclined to take the criticisms of others or their comments and feel their words confirm his own worst fears about himself. It also encourages him to be his own worst enemy. He might easily default into past anti-productive behavior patterns. (Never suck your thumb when you're on the job.)

But it also means that he has to deal with secret enemies. I think this woman might be working against him for his downfall as it were.

But - a ray of hope: This "evil" working against him will be gone by early next year. Hang in there!

Just remember what Confucius says: he who flings dirt only loses ground.

Best wishes - I hope something works out for him. I truly do.

August 13, 2007 - Love Signs Compatibility

hello can you tell me if a Taurus and Aquarius be together. I am a taurus and I am trying my hardest to be the one for her. if u gotta a tips on how or something like that can u msg me back plz ty. I am just not feeling right not knowing if i could last i want to tho =) ty for ur time.

Hi -

Traditionally, some books would say that it is difficult for Taurus and Aquarius to be together because you are both Fixed Signs and square to each other.

However, all these little books are very simplistic. Our charts are far more complicated than that!

For example, as a Taurus, you might have your Moon in Aquarius - which means that you can be great friends with Aquarius people!

Or you might be Aquarius rising.

Or your Aquarius friend might have Moon in Taurus?

Therefore, I really cannot answer this question. But if you really like somebody I believe you should give it all you've got! You have nothing to lose by trying, and then later -- even if it doesn't work out -- you can't beat yourself up for not trying. You can say "I did everything I could."

Good luck!!

July 18, 2007 - An 11 year old fan

*Hi! I am your fan! I have some questions for you though!*

  1. I was born on October 16 , 1995. I read your "What's My Jupiter" article and I am still wondering : Did my sign use to be a Virgo and then when I was 2 or 3 years old i was Libra?*
  2. Are you a Psychic?

thanx -
S.
luv ya'll!!

Hi and thanks for your kind note.

You are Libra. And when you were about 8 years old , you became a Scorpio...and you will be a Scorpio until you are about 38 years old; and then you will become a Sagittarius until you are 68, and then you will become a Capricorn (a long living sign) for the rest of your life... until 96 yrs old.

But you are always a Libra. Just read Libra. These other change are more like personality changes - they don't change the horoscope you should read every day....

And you have your Jupiter in Sagittarius which is one of the very best places to have it. This means you are lucky! And you will like to travel!

I am sure you will have a good life because you have divine protection.

Just make sure you try to help others as much as possible. Always be kind to others. Kindness is the most important thing.... because when you are kind to others - you will become a happier person -- and the purpose of life is to be happy.

All good things to you!
Love,
Georgia

p.s. I never call myself a psychic. I think we are all psychic in varying degrees. You just have to learn how to listen to that part of your mind. You must also learn when to trust your gut instincts because your body knows things that your mind is slow to pick up on. Of this I am sure.

The cells in your body sort of have their own memory. And your subconscious is always ticking away as well. Be careful what images you let into your mind. Protect your mind. These images can stay there - deep in your unconscious for a long time.

July 13, 2007 - Sign Changes as We Get Older

Hi Georgia,

I remember reading somewhere that as you get older you start to change signs. Can you elaborate on this? I've always felt that I was a true Gemini however, in the last 5 years or so I feel like I am honing some Cancer traits.

I was born on June 14th and I'm not sure if I should start reading both signs.

Thanks, L.

Dear L.,

It is true that as we get older, our Sun Sign moves one degree per year. Therefore, if you were born at the beginning of your sign (for example around the 21st or the 22nd of the month) then roughly around 30 years of age, you become the next sign - for the next 30 years. If you were born at the end of your sign, 17th or 18th of the month, you will become the next sign when you are just two or three years old.

What does this mean?

For starters, you are your sign. That is like a photograph of you. It's how you look, the colour of your eyes, your bone structure - it's you!

[Please note: your chart is actually waaay more complicated; and you have many signs in you according to where the planets were at your time of birth, and you probably look more like your Rising Sign than your Sun Sign (which depends on the time of day you were born and where.) But for this discussion, I simply want to clarify the confusion between your Sun Sign and your Progressed Sign.]

So - your Sun Sign is like a photograph of you. (For the purposes of this discussion.) Your Sun Sign is you. "Hi there."

Your Progressed Sign (which begins anywhere from birth to the age 30) is like the same photo view but with a colour gel over it.

Remember the famous pictures of Marilyn Monroe that Andy Warhol did? There were a series of photos of her in different colours - but they were all based on the same photograph of her.

To me that perfectly illustrates the Sun sign versus the Progressed Sign. Every picture is definitely Marilyn Monroe. There's no doubt about that. She herself does not change. And yet, because each picture has a different colour tint to it, you cannot say that each picture is the same.

When you're reading your horoscope - just read your own sign - which is your Sun Sign. If you know your Rising sign, then you should read that too. It will apply equally as much as your Sun Sign.

However, I do not advise you to read your Progressed Sign.

Well then, you might ask, "What's the big deal about the Progressed Sign?"

The Progressed Sign gives you information about how you are changing as you grow. For example, a person that has a strong Virgo chart might suddenly wonder why they have an increasing interest in jewelry. They start wearing more jewelry, and really getting into it! They might also start to wear black or get a bit more Gothic. This is because as they become more Scorpio, they take on some of the attributes of Scorpio, and Scorpio rules jewelry (among many other things.)

Scorpio also rules underwear. So someone who has always worn vanilla cotton underwear, might suddenly start getting exciting underwear at some point in their life because of an increasing Scorpio influence. Capice?

So your Progressed Sign is information about you, and how you're changing as you age. But I would still not change the horoscope signs you read.

For example, in your case - born June 14th. You became a Cancer when you were around 8 years old. And by the time you're 38, you'll become a Leo for the next 30 years. When this happens you should not start to read Leo. But you will probably become a more dramatic, flamboyant Gemini who has an increasing interest in the theatre and movies or something like that.

Hope this clarifies some of the confusion.

Cheers!
Georgia

July 12, 2007 - Moon Alert Explanation

Georgia, why should we avoid shopping or making important decisions on some days? Can you explain how the moon affects this? (For example, is it that every time the moon is in Pisces one shouldn't shop? Or is it something else?) Thank you, enjoy your day.

Dear Reader,

Good for you for paying attention to the Moon Alert!

Every 2 1/2 days just before the Moon changes signs, it goes into limbo, if you will. It enters a period that could be a few minutes or 12 hours where it makes no aspect to any other planet. During these times, which I call Moon Alert times, the Moon is what astrologers term 'void-of course'.

Earth is 4/5 water, and in turn, we are mostly water. The Moon has a definite gravitational pull on water (consider the tides for example) and this is why people are affected by the Moon.

However, during the Moon alert times, when the Moon is not making an aspect - everything is a bit loosey-goosey. We're a bit like helium balloons that are suddenly adrift and floating in the air. According to astrology, whatever you initiate during those times is likely NOT to fulfill its purpose.

For example, if you buy something - your purpose is to use it. However, if you buy something during a Moon Alert time (and this 'item'can be anything from a pair of shoes to a house to a company) - there is a great likelihood it will not for fulfill your purpose.

You might wear the shoes only three times and then never wear them again. We all have stuff hanging in the back of our closets that we never use. And we all have gadgets in our drawers, cupboards and garages that were dubious buys. The odds are these were Moon Alert purchases.

So to be safe, I advise people to avoid shopping during those times (except for food) - and to avoid making important decisions (accepting a job or something like that).

The rule is that whatever you initiate (during a Moon Alert) will likely NOT fulfill your intended objective.

But these times are not all bad. The Moon Alert times are good for creative activities, meditation, yoga, partying or just being goofy and enjoying life.

Hope this helps -
Georgia

June 29, 2007 - Virgo Question

Dear Georgia,

Can you tell me what is happening to Virgos right now? Seems that there are major complications regarding the work force right now.

Virgo....

Dear Virgo,

There are definitely major shifts going on now for Virgos because many of them have been going through the dark night of the soul.... - something that returns every 30 years.

Fortunately, this harsh time, which lasts anywhere from a year to over two years (depending on exactly when you were born) is about to end. In September, Saturn will enter your sign, and in doing so begin to work its way out of traveling through your 12th House. (This is the passage of the dark night of the soul.)

However, this passage could last another year for some Virgos. So let's talk first about the passage of Saturn through your 12th House.

To begin with - the 12th House is a strange, mysterious and yes, dark place. At an astrology conference years ago, I once heard Robert Hand (an astrologer I greatly admire) say to a room full of astrologers, "Let's face it. None of us really know what the 12th House is all about." Everyone roared.

When Saturn travels to the 12th House, it's a time when you dismantle much of what you created in the previous 14 years. It is definitely a time of letting go and giving up things. People, places and possessions will disappear. Whatever is outmoded, outworn and no longer relevant in your life will go by the wayside.

Essentially, this is a good thing. It's part of the cycle of birth, maturation and 'death'. But people resist change; and they panic when they have to give up things.

However, this time of transition is to lighten your load, so that you are realistically streamlined and ready to enter the next phase which is to start reinventing a new you.

When Saturn leaves the 12th house and enters your First house, this process of reinventing yourself really kicks in.

Therefore, in the next year or two, Virgos will be wondering what their image is. They'll be wondering who they really are? They'll try different looks. It can also be a significant time for assessing committed partnerships and relationships.

Hope this helps -
Georgia

June 28, 2007; Mercury Retrograde Ending

Hi Georgia,

Will you let me know again please, when this Mercury retrograde ends? Thanks and cheers,

C.

Dear C.

There are three dates - each better than the other:

Mercury retrograde is technically over by July 10th, 2007.

However, Mercury is still moving "slowly" relative to planet Earth - and does not resume its normal speed until about July 18. (The second best date to shoot for.)

But the best date to work with is July 24th - because this is when Mercury finally reaches the degree it was at when it first went retrograde on June 15.

(In other words, it has now covered the distance where it went backwards and later retraced its steps.)

Therefore, after July 24, Mercury is truly moving "forwards."

Note: Of course in reality Mercury is always moving forward. These are mathematical computations about how Mercury's orbit relates to planet Earth.

March 28, 2007 - Capricorn Spiritual Growth in 2007

Hi Georgia,

I am your old fan. And I'm yours... kind of, because I know you like Capricorns.

..... Through my life experience I strongly believe in our connection with outer world - The Universe. And for God Sake thank you Georgia that you give us this belief in a practical way.

At this point, I am struggling to make the right decision in my personal life ....I follow my intuition as always....but I am overwhelmed and I need your help. I don't want to make anymore mistakes. I don't have room any more for them.

Last and current year, are crucial for my spiritual growth and this process yet not completed ...I guess forever. I feel that something present in the air around me....that something suppose to happen to me. Other people of course would be involved.

I need your advice to move on.

R.G

Dear R. G.,

Thanks for your kind words. This year - more than any year for 12 years, you have the capacity to learn a lot about your spiritual side. (And for that matter, any other religious aspects of your life.)

One way you will do this is by facing and accepting parts of yourself that you normally do not acknowledge - those parts that you consider to be less desirable.

This year you will look more compassionately and gently at your own self - in a forgiving and accepting way. Once you begin to apply this tolerant viewpoint to yourself, then you can more easily apply it to others.

Too often, we judge ourselves harshly, or we echo the accusations we heard from parents and teachers when we were young. "You're lazy." You never finish anything." "You'll never learn how to save money." "You're stupid." "You're too fat."

These criticisms haunt us; and when we feel critical of ourselves, we will feel critical of others.

All Capricorns will discover greater empathy for others this year. There is no doubt about this. By definition, this means they have to discover greater sympathy for themselves.

There is a difference between self-love, which we all need - and self cherishing, which is more self-absorbed and narcissistic.

This year, something will happen that helps you to see that we are all in this Big Soup together. Therefore, what is done to one is done to all. People are more alike than they are not. We all want to be happy. No one wants to suffer.

Below is an excerpt from a book How to Expand Love by the Dalai Lama:

As the Tibetan Lama Kunu Tenzin Gyelsten said, "If you want to be a friend of all people, generate love and compassion. If you want to be a spiritual guide for all people, generate love and compassion. If you want to help everyone, generate love and compassion."

Even if you searched for eons to find the best method to achieve permanent happiness, you would find that the only way is to generate love and compassion.

By becoming truly aware of others and developing respect for them, we ourselves become much happier and more satisfied, which itself has the outward effect of creating an atmosphere of peace...

The external emanates from the internal.

And so R.G. -- if you are self-absorbed and only worried about your own problems you have a tiny world. Therefore, in your tiny world, your problems will seem to be huge!

But if you are concerned, with genuine feeling, in a kind and loving way about others - then your world is a bigger world because the events and problems of others are important to you. In your bigger world, your problems will seem much smaller.

If you want to make grow spiritually progress this year, you've picked the best time to do it!

I suggest you start by practicing loving kindness to yourself and others as much as possible.

Best wishes!
Georgia

March 13, 2007; Mercury Retrograde Fixed Later

I have a question about Mercury Retrograde periods.

When a major decision is made during a Mercury Retrograde time, will the outcome be "fixed" during the next Mercury Retrograde???

Specifically, I'm an Oilers hockey fan, and I knew that when they traded Ryan Smyth to the New York Islanders during Mercury Retrograde that it wouldn't work out for the Oilers.

Will this trade be fixed during the next Mercury Retrograde? Or does the universe just let bad decisions sit on their own???

I don't know if I'm being clear. Before I even knew about Mercury Retrograde time periods, I made a decision to move during one of them. The move didn't work out, it seemed, as there were blocks in my path everywhere I looked. However, because of finances, I got stuck in that situation for a long time.

Does the next Mercury Retrograde period (after the one we've made a bad decision) help us to fix up an earlier bad decision? Geez....not sure that what I wrote was clearer.

R.

Dear R.

I think I get your drift.

No -- I do not think the next Mercury retrograde period can "fix" the previous one.

The reason is this: Every moment of every day (every instant) has a chart in astrology. That chart varies according to the longitude and latitude - and of course, the time of day. For example, as I write you this answer, this "note' has a chart.

Therefore, not just when you get born... and not just when you get married - but every decision you make - technically has a chart.

Therefore, during a Mercury retrograde period two things are at play:

1. Delays and errors occur because the functions that Mercury rules are "stalled" - and Mercury rules all ground transportation and communications and paper work and minor daily activities. (As well as certain businesses.)

So this we know. We expect these snafus during this time. However -

2. The decisions we make during a Mercury retrograde for e.g. to trade Smyth to the NY Islanders - this now has a chart, and this chart has a retrograde Mercury in it. Forever. So it doesn't get "fixed". It has that quality.

3. But just to complicate things, I will say that some times in the future there is a shift and that is when that progressed Mercury finally does move direct. It might happen in this lifetime or it might not. (Let's not get too technical here... I don't want a penalty.)

In closing, I want to stress that while Mercury retrograde times are a bummer with cars and computers and inefficient goof ups - they can be used to good advantage to finish up old business.

Cheers -
Georgia

March 7, 2007; Born on the Cusp

Dear Georgia,

I am confused about the changing of signs.  I was born on June 20 194- and have felt on the cusp, one way or another.  So I often read Cancer as well as Gemini for advice and for thoughts for the day. Which sign or signs should I read for general direction for each day?

I will send a cheque for the annual forecast, but for which sign?

Thanks F.

Dear F.

You're right, this is a tricky situation! And it brings up the difference between your chart and your horoscope.

A newspaper horoscope (albeit general) is like a weather forecast. It has a predictive quality, and comments on what is happening to you or what you're undergoing now or in the future. For this, you want to read the sign which is closest to the degree of your Sun.

Therefore, as a late Gemini (28 and a half degrees), the horoscope for Cancer will apply to you more than that of Gemini.

However, parts of my annual Forecasts and even parts of my horoscope columns (gulp) refer to the qualities of your sign - so in this case, Gemini will apply because after all you are a Gemini.

In other words, predictions about what is happening are different than comments about the characteristics of your sign. Capice?

I am sorry I cannot give you a yes or no - black or white answer on this.

The annual Forecast is a tough one because the comments about Gemini will apply to you; however, the comments about what happened in the past and what is happening now and in the future for you will be more accurate if you read Cancer. Oy vey!

I suggest you order Cancer - and I will send you Gemini as well. But on a daily basis ? read Cancer.

Good luck!
Georgia

February 7, 2007; Taurus Benefits

Hi Georgia,

I love your column and read it every morning before I start my day. I have a question for you that I'm hoping you can explain to me. I'm a Taurus and you have said on several forecasts within the last month or so that I will benefit from the wealth of others this year. What does that mean? How does one benefit from the wealth of others?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely,
K.

Dear K.

Hmmm, I am just finishing chomping a late lunch of bacon and eggs. And I certainly benefited from others. The chickens definitely made a contribution; and the pig made a real sacrifice! (In other words, we're all dependent on the contributions from others in some way.)

But to be more specific, the wealth of others can refer to the actual wealth that others have that somehow starts to dribble your way or benefit you in some manner. Your partner or friend could get a raise or a bonus and treat you to dinner; or if you live with this person -- their increased income somehow benefits you.

Others might suddenly acquire a boat or a cabin or a motorcycle or something that you have an opportunity to use. Then there is the obvious: you might get an inheritance or a direct gift from someone.

Then there are indirect ways that we receive benefits from others. A store might be forced go out of business, and you happen to be able to scoop up big bargains. Or you might really score something in a garage sale. Or someone might cancel an event or a class that is full - allowing you to gain entrance.

Others might do physical favours for you -- anything from a backrub to yard work. You're still benefiting from the wealth of others -- in this case there energy and their bodies.

In varying degrees, we all benefit or pay a price in our relationships with each other. This is the year (and perhaps even the next 18 months for some of you) where knowing other people will somehow bring you advantages, favours, increased wealth or little goodies.

It might be as simple as being let off a traffic ticket, or suddenly being given the best table in a restaurant. Many of these little things - favours from the universe - will accrue to Taurus this year.

Personally, I think that those of you who have been generous in the past, will probably clean up more than those of you who haven't; because I believe that what goes around comes around.

February 6, 2007; Full Moon

Hi Georgia

Hope you had a good summer.  My question is: Do we feel the affects of the full moon differently if we live in the big city or quietly in the forest.  The fullmoon looks stronger I'm wondering if the pull is stronger...I know it pulls the water element inside us which accounts for some strange behaviors. ?

Thanks W.

Dear W.

That's a good question and frankly I don't know the answer. But here is what I think. Each Full Moon is an opposition between the Sun & the Moon, and these are qualities within each of us i.e. the Moon governs our feelings and emotions and habitual patterns of behavior, whereas the Sun influences our overall energy and our analytical determination to reach out for what we want. The Moon is sort of "past" oriented and the Sun is more "future" oriented.

Each Full Moon sets up an opposition within us - either an opposition in our feelings and attitudes toward something or (and this is more obvious) an opposition where we cannot satisfy two different areas of our life - for e.g. home & family versus career.

We will feel this opposition "fighting" within us - creating an inner tension wherever we are - city or country. But I suspect that in the country, we might feel calmer because we're removed from the city stress, and also have the advantage of being replenished by better air, quiet and a more peaceful environment in general. This cud mellow us out - and in turn, make us appreciate the beauty of the Full Moon. We might notice its presence more and because of this we think we "feel" it more. It might interrupt our sleep for example.

In the city, we might not even notice the Full Moon (but this harvest Moon is impossible to ignore!) however, the increased tension to the tension we already feel will definitely be there.

I see that I have not answered your question. I think the answer is simply -- it's a different experience - because the city and country are different experiences.

I live in a quiet forest on an Island and I have been watching this Full Moon build each evening through the trees. I even went out several nights to look at it.

However, right now I am in the city, and I sat out on a back porch last night looking at the same Full Moon through the trees - and it was lovely.

I think our awareness is whatever it is wherever we are.

(Of course, time flies when you're unconscious.)

All best -

January 30, 2007; Leo Full Moon

Georgia....

I love your astrology and your school project.

My question is about your saying that the Full Moon is in Leo on Feb 1. I thought Leo Full Moon was the full moon that occurs during period of Leo in July/Aug. What am I missing here?

C.S.

Ah yes - this is a good question.

Each Full Moon is an opposition between the Sun and the Moon.

In the July/Aug. period, the Sun is in Leo - and the Moon is in its opposite sign Aquarius. Hence it is a "Full Moon in Aquarius".

In the Jan/Feb period, the Sun is in Aquarius and the Moon is in Leo; hence it is a "Full Moon in Leo."

Now (ahem) both these Full Moons create increased tension in partnerships and close friendships for Leo and Aquarius people. They both have that 180 vibration thang going on. However, the difference is this: when the Full Moon is opposite your "sign" i.e. where your Sun is - you tend to feel that the tension is coming from the other person. It's their fault! They're annoying jerks! They can't get their act together. They're on your case - whatever. Grrrr. Hiss and pop.

And when the Full Moon is in your own sign, you still feel disgruntled with the other person, but this time it stems from your own sense of dissatisfaction with things. And you know it.

In other words, an opposition of planets gives you the illusion that the stress is external; whereas a conjunction gives you the feeling that whatever is going on is being created within you.

In either case, you have to practice more patience than usual. (Just to get along.) Every Full Moon creates a pull between two different areas of your chart. (You're dammed if you do and damned if you don't.)

It gets even more complicated because the line of tension between the Sun & Moon doesn't always fall neatly, although to write a short column I pretend it does. Sometimes a Full Moon in Leo could create work and job stress for an Aquarian as well as stress with partnerships.

As they say dismissively in the movies "It's complicated."

January 23, 2007; Scorpio

Dear Georgia,

Thanks for your reply -

I have been a police officer for (x) years so far, but not so sure it is really my "dream" job.....Not sure if I have Scorpio in my chart. All I know is I am a Libra but will have my charts read one day soon.

Dear "Officer" -

The Rising Sign is just as important as your "sign" which is actually your Sun Sign. In fact, if I can only know ONE thing about a person - I would rather know their Rising Sign, which is a big clue to their personality, and their appearance, and how they act in the world, and also how they react to others.

Because the Sun is close to Mercury and Venus - those planets are often in the same sign or the "next" sign. Since you have Sun in Libra - you might have Mercury or Venus in Scorpio which made you choose being a police officer. Or you might have Pluto very prominent in your chart.

Pluto rules Scorpio - and in ancient mythology, Pluto ruled the underworld. Therefore, Pluto rules all crime and all police detection agencies.

It also rules plumbing, which is hidden under streets (sewers) and behind walls.

It also rules garbage (which we hide) - and this includes "old" garbage i.e. anthropology or archeology.

It also rules gems and jewels - so appraisers, gem dealers, and jewelers all have Scorpio in their charts.

Also in the realm of the "hidden" is the corporal body - blood, guts, veins, and organs - all hidden under skin, scales, feathers or fur. Therefore, all aspects of medicine, butchery, and taxidermy are under the realm of Pluto.

Similarly, our subtle bodies - our soul, unconscious etc - are ruled by Scorpio; and this includes counseling, psychology and psychiatry.

But the biggest secret of all in life is death. So embalming and anything related to death is under the realm of Pluto or Scorpio.

You might notice that your fellow officers are into jewelry or psychology, medicine or archeology or whatever.

Plus the Pluto impulse always wants to take something and restore it - to recover or refinish, or refurbish or renovate. Pluto is all about reform.

Aries and Scorpio are both fighting pugilistic signs. But Aries stabs you and says, "Ah ha! I win!"

Scorpio stabs you - removes the offending (garbage) organ and then sews you up again.

Just a little eye opener about Scorpio, which I am sure you have or you would not have become a police officer.

January 16, 2007; Birthdays...

Hi There,

Quick question for you; when a person is reading the year ahead forecast published on their birthday are the day before and the day after predictions quasi relevant as well?  Case in point, I'm born December 28th, can I look to the 27th and 29th with an eye towards some relevancy in the "Today is your birthday" paragraph?

Thanks so much,
L.S.

Dear L.S.

This is an excellent question.

Whatever happens on your birthday can be an indication of how your year will unfold.

But here is the kicker - most people do not know when their true birthday is each year because it can vary from year to year. Why? Because your true birthday is when the Sun returns to the exact degree it was at when you were born.

Some years this is the day before your so-called birthday - or the day afterwards, or it could be on your calendar birthday.

I love it when I have two birthdays - then I celebrate all week!

So to answer your question -- yes, very often if you read the birthday blurb for the day before & after your own birthday - it could be relevant for that particular year.

Cheers
